IT HAPPENED ONCE THAT MORE THEN FORTY PAIRS [OF WITNESSES] WERE ON THEIR WAY [TO JERUSALEM] AND R'AKIBA DETAINED THEM etc. It has been taught: R'Judah said: Far be it from us to think that R'Akiba detained them.
